The Square People

I’ve been meaning to write this post, but as you can see, I’ve been neglecting my blog lately!

Anyway, as I was sitting with my sister in Rittenhouse the other day, a cute, quirky photog came up and introduced herself (Gaby) and asked if she could take some photos of us. Utterly embarrassed and equally intrigued, we said yes and she took some shots of us and Liam (it was his birthday!). Turns out she does this everyday and then posts them on her blog: www.thesquarepeople.blogspot.com. Very cool idea. She is also a wedding photographer! It was like fate that I met her as I was just starting my vendor search for this event planning adventure of mine. Not only is she a wedding photographer, and a good one at that, she works for the very talented Shea Roggio! Very cool. I am thinking of getting her to take some shots of Nick, Liam and me so we have some professional shots of us when he is still our baby!

Birthday Bash Photos

Phew! Made it through the first birthday party alive! It was a lot of planning and crafting and coordinating, but we did it! I think Liam could have done without all the people, but hey, I made it through my first year as a mom and I was going to celebrate!

We had 30 guests young and old, my 93 year old gram-mom was in attendance! Bruschettas, salads, ravioli and tortilinis filled us up along with a beautiful Salted caramel cake from Sweet Elizabeth’s Cakes… ummm maybe the best cake I’ve ever had! She also made various cupcakes (which I topped with Liam’s cute little mug:) which were delicious. I was so sad that Liam was too tired to enjoy his, so there is no “shoving the cupcake in face” shot haha.

Liam made out like a bandit and we all slept like babies that night! Thanks to everyone who helped and who partied with us, we had an awesome day!

Birthday Bash Decor

I’ve been busy! Here are the pics of my latest creations. Photo props/goodie bags for the kids, paper staws, filmstrips of the first 12 months (still can’t believe this).

The tins for all the goodies are from Target, but had some winter motifs, that’s why I added the colored paper strips, but I really like the way it turned out. The filmstrip frames were a gift from my mom and from IKEA I think.
